Final Fantasy XIV: Evercold launches on 23 February 2027. European pre-orders open on 4 November 2026 at 10:00 CET, the time in mainland Spain. Square Enix’s announcement of 31 October 2026 combines gameplay news with several collectible options: it helps to separate what you play, what you unlock and what goes in a display cabinet.
Zephyr: an identity built around the crossbow
Zephyr is a physical ranged DPS: a job focused on dealing damage from a distance. It combines crossbow shots with support from Nephele, an avian familiar. The weapon and companion define its introduction, although the announcement alone cannot establish its balance or final performance.
For fantasy weapon enthusiasts, it is interesting to see how a recognisable silhouette can define a character. The crossbows in our catalogue provide a different visual reference; the pieces shown here are neither Zephyr replicas nor products announced for Evercold.

What changes beyond the new job
The adventure leads to the Fourth reflection, an icebound world with vast ships and new locations. Seasons reshapes reward acquisition; Fierce adds a raid difficulty between Normal and Savage. These changes matter to returning players seeking a different progression rhythm or challenge.
EVANGELION: Ghosts of Desire, an alliance raid crossover, has also been announced, alongside demanding eight-player battles based on bosses from those raids. The official website warns that some content may arrive through patches: the full feature list should not be read as a promise of launch-day availability.
European editions: separating the box, expansion and extras
The most useful starting point is what each option includes, before its edition name:
- Collector’s Box: a physical art box illustrated by Yoshitaka Amano, a Warrior of Light reaper figure, an Ethos metal keychain, a Köttr mini plush and a Tapestry of the Fourth. It includes no copy of Evercold, in-game items or pre-order bonuses.
- Digital Collector’s Edition: the expansion and three digital extras: the Valhallar Odin mount, Entreat Crystal emote and Crystal Skyltborg weapon for bastion.
- Collector’s Bundle: the physical box and a code for the Digital Collector’s Edition for Windows or Mac. Square Enix has announced limited quantities.
On Steam and consoles, physical and digital components are purchased separately according to platform. Early access is tentatively scheduled for 19 February 2027 at 10:00 CET. Before pre-ordering, check platform, account and requirements: the expansion is not a standalone game and requires a subscription.
Valhallar Odin and the appeal of collecting worlds
The official product page describes Valhallar Odin as a mount inspired by the Eidolon Odin from Final Fantasy XIII. Its connection with Norse imagery invites us to examine how games reinterpret names and motifs; this does not make their designs historical reconstructions.
That dialogue between fantasy and objects continues in our collection of Viking-themed pendants. The Odin raven pendant image illustrates a catalogue motif independent of Final Fantasy. For a personal collection, distinguishing licensing, aesthetic inspiration and official content helps establish what each piece represents.
If Evercold’s visual world interests you, look at three things: the crossbow’s silhouette, the reinterpretation of Odin and the difference between a digital reward and a physical object. These offer the most intriguing connection between the announcement and collecting fantasy.
