Description
When looking for a hand-and-a-half sword with proportions inspired by medieval pieces from the 12th and 13th centuries, the Atrim by Kingston Arms model combines robust construction with dimensions designed for versatile handling. Designed by Gus Trim, this sword takes reference from the Oakeshott Type XIIIa characteristics, a typology associated with the evolution of medieval weapons during this period.
The blade, approximately 83.2 cm long, is hand-forged from 9260 spring steel, tempered, with flat grinds and a satin finish. Its total length reaches about 109.9 cm, and the balance point is located approximately 15.2 cm from the hilt. Weighing close to 1.5 kg and featuring a 25.4 cm grip, it offers enough space for two-handed use and to work different handling techniques.
The grip incorporates a solid wooden core wrapped in textured leather, providing a firm and comfortable hold. The fittings are made of high-quality stainless steel, adding robustness to the assembly. Moreover, it comes with a wooden scabbard wrapped in leather, with a reinforced stainless steel tip, facilitating the storage and transport of the sword.
