Description

The great Scottish longswords represented the power and strength of the warriors of the Lowlands during the 16th century. Also known as slaughter swords, these enormous weapons were used on Gaelic battlefields and by Scottish mercenaries of the time. The Aged Scottish Langsax Lowlander in Steel 1566 Kingston Arms recreates a museum piece with an aged finish that enhances its historical character.

Its impressive 122 cm blade is made from steel 1566 and retains the original proportions of these great longswords, with a thickness of up to 8 mm in the guard area. Despite its total length of 174 cm and its approximately 3.5 kg weight, it features a careful balance that allows one to appreciate the harmony of its construction. The grip is wrapped in leather and features additional decoration with leather strips secured by rivets, providing a traditional finish.

The ring-shaped guard incorporates the characteristic four-leaf clover motifs of Scotland, a detail that connects the piece to its cultural origins. Its aged finish gives it the appearance of a historical piece, making it a standout option for collectors, reenactors, and lovers of great Scottish swords.
