Description
These 14th-century floating medieval knee guards with side plates recreate the silhouette of the poleyns used as independent knee defense in the Late Middle Ages. The set incorporates bomb-shaped cups and lateral disks, details that complete a historical armor look designed for LARP, cosplay, renaissance fairs, reenactments, exhibitions, and themed costumes.
They are made of mild steel with a polished exterior finish and an interior painted black. The leather pieces situated under the knee guards contribute to the visual finish characteristic of the design, while the authentic leather straps, adjustable buckles, and various adjustment points allow for a customized fit. The side plates enhance visual coverage around the knee joint and help define a more elaborate medieval presence in a knight's attire.
Supplied in pairs with a light protective coating of oil, which should be removed before use or display. After each use, dry the steel with a soft cloth, store it in a cool, dry place, apply oil occasionally, and check the straps and buckles; conditioning the leather is advised to avoid cracking. Since these pieces are individually crafted, minor variations in the finish, leather, and surface of the steel may occur.
